This unique design, named Clinic Zen and created by designer Fabio Su, goes beyond practicality. It seamlessly integrates spatial planning and design, embracing the surrounding natural environment. Unlike typical clinics, this design incorporates residential elements, aiming to improve the utilization of indoor and outdoor spaces. The simple lines reflect the professionalism and calmness of the physicians, ultimately building trust with patients.
The realization of Clinic Zen involved the use of various materials, including logs, granite skins, arctic gray stone, fir, H-type steel, steel plate paint, cola stone, stainless steel grille, gray glass, wood flooring, glass, paint, laminate, fair-faced concrete, aluminum screen, smart door locks, and electric curtains. These materials were carefully selected to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space.
The five-floor building, with a total area of 199.4 Ping, not only provides the necessary clinic space but also offers ample living space for the residents. The integration of residential and commercial areas posed a challenge, particularly in ensuring the separation of public and private spaces, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To convey the professional image of the dental clinic, clean lines were employed to emphasize rationality and expertise. The interior space not only complements the architectural style but also maximizes brightness, creating a clean and bright professional environment. Additionally, the design incorporates elements that bring the outdoor landscape into the room, providing patients with a comfortable and soothing environment. In the residential area, warm wood textures and refreshing tones were used to create a cozy and inviting home atmosphere.
Clinic Zen, designed by Fabio Su, began construction in November 2017 and was completed in April 2021 in Chiayi City, Taiwan. The project required extensive research to ensure that the design met the needs of a clinic while maintaining a professional and calming ambiance. Overcoming challenges such as the proximity to existing buildings and the need for public-private separation, the design successfully achieved its objectives.
This exceptional design, recognized for its innovation and practicality, received the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. The award acknowledges designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and technical characteristics to create a positive and fulfilling experience.
